Fly or Die (Gilles Rocha) - Brass Quintet version
This arrangement of this yet well-known challenging fun piece is from the hand of the composer himself, a native of Valais (in Switzerland) as I am.
I chose to perform the exact same part (meant for Bass-trombone) on tenor as those pedal tones are part of the fun 😎
It was recorded with my friends of the "Geneva Brass" at the end of one of our concerts in Switzerland in march 2022.

Benedetto Marcello sonata n°3

This sonata originally for cello was performed at the festival of Ferney-Voltaire (France) in october 2016 along with organ player Diego Inocennzi. We took the risk to play the soloist and organ dissociated which made the things quite tricky but so much more cosy for the audience. Therefore the organist never appear on the video. the sackbut (baroque trombone) used is a Bosc.

And he probably plays THE best Bach trombone ever built... seriously, I have tried his horn and it.s such an amazing instrument.

    Hello, I am a student majoring in Trombone in Korea. Thank you for the great performance. I like this song very much, so I listen to it often, but I have a question and I am writing a comment. What about the trill between the lower range, for example do - re? Do you use your key? And can you tell me how to practice the low pitch trill? Please understand that I am not good at English, so I am writing with a translator. Thank you.

    • @DavidReytrombone
      @DavidReytrombone 4 роки тому

      금관악기 hi, I use me valve to do those trills. You sometimes have to mix lips trills and valve trills to get the best results as well as to wisely choose your slide positions to do it. That was quite tricky to work on. Good luck 😉
